Passageway is an organization that provides adult mental health services in Miami-Dade County. As a community-based agency, it offers a variety of treatment and rehabilitation programs administered by a Comprehensive Community Service Team dedicated to helping individuals with severe and persistent mental illness establish a high-level of satisfying and functional living.
Our Mission is to provide supervised residential care, psychosocial treatment and case management services to the severe and persistently chronic mentally ill persons who have found themselves penal involved in the criminal justice system. We facilitate their transition from hospital or penal institution to an independent least restrictive environment of their choice.
We establish liaison with the community through a vigorous and effective educational program to dispel myths and misunderstandings about major mental illness and to demonstrate our efficiency in the delivery of successful therapies.
The ultimate mission of the program is to ensure that the needs of the individual client and the needs of the community are met. Our successful track record is expected to attract expanding resources and thus enhance our ability to respond to existing and future needs, by building confidence and self-esteem through work relationship, empowering, choice, hope and control of themselves.
Our Goal is to assist individual's develop awareness, insight, and acceptance of their mental illness, achieve self-empowerment of skills necessary to lead fruitful quality lives, and ultimately regain their place within the community as productive members of society.
